Tyler Erb attends World of Outlaws World Finals at Charlotte
The 17th running of the World of Outlaws World Finals brought Tyler Erb and the Best Performance Motorsports team to The Dirt Track at Charlotte (Concord, N.C.) on Wednesday to compete in a pair of qualifying rounds to kick off the four-day event.
With the 74-car field divided in two for both time trial sessions, Erb followed up the sixth-fastest lap in the first round with the 11th-quickest lap in his second effort.
On Thursday, Tyler missed a transfer spot by one car in both his heat race and B-Main, ending his night early.
A fourth-place result in Friday’s heat race relegated him into one of three consolation races. Needing to place second or better to make the final preliminary feature, Erb logged a fifth-place outing.
For Saturday’s finale, Tyler raced into the $25,000-to-win World Finals main event with a second-place finish in his B-Main. Pinned on the 11th row for the 50-lap finale, Erb muscled forward three positions to register a 19th-place finish.
