Brief History


Tyler began his racing career at the age of 14-years-old in 2011. He first raced in the Hobby Stock division in a Doug Ivey Chassis, and he enjoyed considerable success as he won nine features. His wins came at five different tracks, which included Golden Triangle Speedway (Beaumont, Texas), Baton Rouge Raceway (Baton Rouge, Louisiana), 171 Raceway (Leesville, Louisiana), Gator Motorplex (Willis, Texas), and Battleground Speedway (Highlands, Texas). His final stats in the Hobby Stock included 24 top three finishes and 28 top ten finishes.

By October 2011 Erb was ready for a new challenge and acquired an Express Limited Open Wheel Modified. He competed in twelve events, and in just his fifth event he would register a feature win at Boothill Speedway (Greenwood, Louisiana). He would win again three weeks later at Gator Motorplex (Willis, Texas) in his first appearance at the facility. In May 2012 he claimed a triumph at 105 Speedway (Cleveland, Texas) in his first visit to facility. Overall he finished in the top five on six separate occassions and only finished outside of the top ten in three starts.

May 2012 found Tyler making another move as he took over the driving duties of his Father's Super Late Model. In just his fourth start he claimed the Super Late Model feature win at Jones Motor Speedway (Chatham, Louisiana).

In 2013 Erb entered thirty-three Super Late Model events across the region. Although he was winless on the season, Tyler did score sixteen top ten finishes along with eight top fives.

Tyler took part in twenty-two Super Late Model events throughout the course of his 2014 campaign. He score two victories, which included a P&W Sales Southern United Professional Racing Series (SUPR) win on August 30th at Lonestar Speedway (Kilgore, Texas). Erb was also crowned the Louisiana State Champion with his $2,000 victory on November 1st at Baton Rouge Speedway (Baton Rouge, Louisiana).

Competing in a total of forty-three events during the 2015 season, Tyler Erb picked up five wins in his First Class Septic #91 Super Late Model. With the weather determining the outcome of eleven of his scheduled dates, Erb recorded twenty top ten finishes and thirteen top five outings. He also finished the season in fifth in the P&W Sales SUPR point standings.

Attending a total of 77 events throughout the 2016 season, Tyler Erb captured two wins. With the weather affecting only six of his dates, Erb posted 27 Top 10 finishes and 11 Top 5 outings. Tyler wrapped up his 2016 World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series rookie season 12th in points.

The 2017 season saw Tyler Erb compete in a total of 82 events while visiting victory lane three times. Losing 15 of his scheduled dates to Mother Nature, Erb registered 45 Top-10 outings and 19 Top-5 finishes. He also finished his second year following the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series sixth in points.

Traveling to a total of 89 events during the 2018 season, Tyler Erb captured ten wins aboard his New Point Lighting and Design Inc. #91 Roberts Bee Company/ XR1 Rocket Chassis/ Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model. With the weather determining the outcome of six of his scheduled dates, Erb collected 53 Top-10 outings and 33 Top-5 finishes. He also finished eighth in the final World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series point standings.

Tyler Erb attended a total of 88 events during the 2019 season behind the wheel of the Best Performance Motorsports No. 1 Late Model entry. Losing 13 of his scheduled dates to bad weather, Tyler recorded 10 wins, 31 Top-5 finishes, and 57 Top-10 outings. He finished fourth in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series point standings while capturing the Eibach Rookie of the Year award.

In a year that saw several events cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Tyler Erb participated in a total of 76 races behind the wheel of the Best Performance Motorsports No. 1 Late Model. He ended the season with six wins, 28 Top-5 finishes, and 48 Top-10 outings. He finished fifth in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series point standings.
