Tyler Erb nets podium in Sooner State Showdown

A three-race weekend in Oklahoma brought Tyler Erb and the Best Performance Motorsports team to Arrowhead Speedway for the Sooner State Showdown.

Thursday’s lone COMP Cams Super Dirt Series event saw Erb battling inside the top 10 before contact on lap 20 while running eighth sent him to the rear. He recovered to finish 14th.

With the weekend’s remaining programs sanctioned by the World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Model Series, Erb posted a ninth-place finish on Friday before delivering his best outing of the swing in Saturday’s $20,000-to-win finale.

After running third in his heat to earn a fifth-row starting spot, Erb charged forward seven positions in the 50-lapper to claim third at the checkered flag, joining winner Bobby Pierce and runner-up Nick Hoffman on the podium.
