Fifth-place finish in Illini 100 opener at Farmer City Raceway
After a weekend in Matt Tifft’s No. 57 Late Model in Alabama, Tyler Erb returned to the Best Performance Motorsports No. 1 entry on Friday for the two-day Illini 100 at Farmer City (IL) Raceway.
With 42 World of Outlaws Late Model Series entries on the grounds, Erb qualified fifth-fastest in his group before placing third in his heat. Starting Friday’s preliminary feature in 10th, Tyler climbed five spots to register a fifth-place finish. He chased Ethan Dotson, Ricky Thornton, Brian Shirley, and Brandon Sheppard to the checkers.
In a slower start on Saturday, Tyler squeezed into the $20,000-to-win Illini 100 finale with a consolation victory. Pinned on the ninth row for the 60-lap affair, Erb recorded a 15th-place outing.
