Tyler Erb parks in Springfield Raceway's Victory Lane
As the Hell Tour rolled into Missouri’s Springfield Raceway, Tyler Erb and Best Performance Motorsports picked up right where they left off—celebrating in Victory Lane.
Kicking off Week Three of the DIRTcar Summer Nationals, Erb earned a heat race win from the front row before fending off strong challenges from Ashton Winger and Brandon Sheppard to score his seventh win of the season and the 18th Hell Tour victory of his career. He took the checkered flag 0.669 seconds ahead of Winger.
Following a rainout on Wednesday at Tri-City Speedway, Erb returned to action Thursday in the prestigious Herald & Review 100 at Macon Speedway. After leading in the early stages, he faded late to finish ninth in the 100-lap affair.
With $10,000-to-win events on tap Friday at Farmer City Raceway and Saturday at Highland Speedway, Erb remained a consistent front-runner, finishing second and fifth, respectively—positioning himself firmly in the hunt for the Week Three points title.
However, a 16th-place finish in Sunday’s week-ending feature at Clarksville Speedway dropped Erb to third in the Week Three standings.
