Fourth & fifth in Wild West Shootout opening weekend
The 19th annual Rio Grande Waste Services Wild West Shootout presented by O’Reilly Auto Parts brought Tyler Erb and the Best Performance Motorsports team to Vado (N.M.) Speedway Park over the weekend for a pair of races to kick off the 2025 season.
Joining 46 Super Late Models in the pit area, Erb turned in a second-place finish in his heat race before going 10th-to-5th in Saturday’s $25,000-to-win opener.
On Sunday, Tyler followed up the fourth-fastest qualifying effort in his group with a runner-up heat outing. With a $10,000 payday on the line in the feature, Tyler drove to a fourth-place finish. He chased Bobby Pierce, Brandon Sheppard, and Chase Junghans to the checkers with Ethan Dotson finishing fifth.
